Top ten books of 2008

I went to a blog that had a top ten book list for 2008 and I thought that is was areally cool idea! i have thought of ten books that I read in 2008 and am quite proud of them. the only thing is that I can't exactly think all the way back to January 1, 2008 so these are the book that I can think of the really stood out in my memory.
FYI These are in no order
Note: These are books that I read in 2008 not nessassarily books that came out in 2008

1 Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows
JK Rowling
I know that there was aton of hype for this one and a lot of people were let down (me included) but I'm way to much of a die hard fan to not put in on my list

2 The Da Vinci Code
Dan Brown
Dan Brown is such a good writer! He has you on the edge of your seat the whole book. I had seen the movie but that didn't make the book any less of a suspenseful rollar coaster. Although it has taken a bit of a bad rap I still

3 The Other Boylen Girl
Philippa Gregory
Wow! This was the first book I have read by Gregory and I'm now on my 5th. I would stay up until midnight reading with a flashlight under the covers. I'f you haven't read anything by Gregory yet get your hands on a copy!

4 The Hungar Games
Suzanne Collins
I don't know where to begin. I can only think of amazing! oh and READ IT.

5 The Red Tent
Anita Diamant
After a taste of this book you just want more. The book follows the story of Jacob, his four wives, and 12 sons. Sound Familiar? well did you know Jacob also has a dsughter? and her story is the one that needs to be told

6 Pope Joan
Donna Cross
I got this book for 50 cents at a garage sale and until I read this book i had never really thought much about the pope let alone a female pope. But this book opened my eyes. I would recommend this book to anyone. Whether you choose to believe in Pope Joan in the end or not I would still say give it a try

7 Wicked
Gregory Maquire
I had been listening to the CD for years then I saw the play then I read the book. Hear the music, see the play, or read the book be sure to do it. It has a great moral about fitting in and being yourself

8 The Book Theif
Markus Zusak
I read this for my book group and it is honestly the best account I have yet to read on the Holacaust

9 Breaking Dawn
Stephaine Meyer
I know that every tennage girl out there is screaming the prasies of Bella and Edward ( or Jacob Black if that's how you roll) but I loved it! and the movie didn't dissapoint me too badly

10 Stolen Innocence
Ellissa Walls
This was about a girl who was part of a religion very similar to Mormon who is married to her cousin at 14. She breaks free of her religion and files a lawsuit. This summary is not giving the book justice. For a real life struggle this is definatly a book you need to read.

There I 'm done. When I get time later I plan on adding pictures and links. If you think some of these books shouldn't have made the cut leave a comment and let me know.
